Two day (Saturday & Sunday) workbook classes were attended in October of 2001.

FUNSAR 2001

Twenty-eight students attended the class, comprised of Township of West Milford Fire, Police and First Aid personnel as well as New Jersey Rangers from Wawayanda State Park, Ringwood State Park and members of the New Jersey Search & Rescue.

The weekend of November 17-18, 2001 the class spent in actual exercises through the night at Wawayanda State Park.

The entire class ended successfully with all students passing the course, bringing the total Township SAR Team Roster to 64 persons.

In October and November the Office of Emergency Management sponsored a Fundamentals of Search & Rescue (FUNSAR) class.

George Rice with Captain Richard Roller and two other NJSAR members taught the class.
